This house can be found along Rt. 72. Most people agree it’s around 100 years old. It also has a double outhouse behind it.
I stopped at the gas station next to it and asked for some info on it. The guy there said nobody’s lived in it for 10 years, which I’m not so sure about; I read in a few places people lived in it 2-3 years ago. He also said the gas station owns the windmill and wants to fix it up. It sure could use it.
He also said a popular tale is that whalers lived in it when it was first built.
Whatever its origin, it sure stands out from any other house you see on the roadside.
