    This is is a photo of one of the original outlets on the Ontario side, long abandoned now, for the Niagara power project. The current Ontario-side outlet is farther downstream in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, opposite Lewiston, NY. The former Niagara Mohawk power company (now National Grid) got its name from the Niagara project.
