I lived in Wildwood, and the gorilla was a giant slide. He was part of family fun land along the road heading out of Wildwood, not on the board walk. I now drive past him and think about when I was younger and riding the go carts with my dad. We always finished with a ride down the gorilla slide. He was shut down before he was moved though for liability reasons. I’m glad he was kept in New Jersey and left out where people can still see him.
