Quaker Bridge

Yet another place we stumbled upon by accident. When we took the dirt road a little too far, we ended up on this bridge. According to SJ Unpaved, the original bridge was built in 1772 by Quakers, who had yearly meetings in Tuckerton.

It's......a bridge. Not too exciting, but historically, it's significant

SJ Unpaved also says a tavern, Tompson’s Tavern, was near the bridge in the 1800’s, but it was burnt down in the 1840’s or 50’s. We didn’t see any remnants of a building, but then again, you can barely see anything through the thick foliage.
