Hampton Furnace was one of the many bog iron furnaces in the Pine Barrens. Like the rest, it died shortly after the iron furnaces in Pennsylvania produced higher quality iron by using anthracite coal.

  1. This isn’t the actual furnace ruins. They are loooong gone. This is what is left of the 5 story cranberry packing house which actually stood until about 1976.
